Create Unbreakable Connections with Your Followers on Social Media
Or, why you should banish stopping cues from your content feeds
While working with my coach Neil Mason recently, we got into a discussion about the idea of attention. It gave me a new insight into how to cultivate connections with prospective clients that you may find helpful to your relationship development and client acquisition/retention efforts.
Despite what some may believe, a person can only be truly paying attention to one thing at a time. That means that if you’re watching a movie on Netflix, you can’t also be consuming someone’s Instagram feed. If your child, while playing on the floor in front of the television, starts showing you something they’re doing, then your attention is no longer on Netflix. In business, when people give their attention to something you’re providing to them, as soon as you do something that breaks that stream of attention, you’ve granted them the opportunity to step away and focus on something else.
