The fact that any of that is even possible only underlines the point that the electoral college in 2020 remains anti-democratic, does not fully reflect the popular will as expressed at the ballot box, and is open to manipulation by unscrupulous politicians. I can see no sensible justification for its continued existence. Whatever laudatory purpose it ever was meant to serve vanished long ago.
